A New Way to Good Health

I am a cyclist. For twenty years I was a professional involved in this beautiful sport. I won an Olympic silver medal and two world championship medals. I was the first Polish cyclist to turn professional. I competed in the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France many times. Throughout my career, I won around 200 races. Currently I organize the biggest cycling race in this part of Europe – the Tour de Pologne, as well as many other cycling events for amateurs and professionals.

While engaged in this competitive sport, I didn’t think too much about nutrition. Back then, not much was said about the impact of food on the performance of competitors and their health. After concluding my career, I began to have health problems – I put on weight, had arterial fibrillation, and in addition Meniere’s disease and Lyme’s disease. These illnesses proved very serious and though medication helped, it did not solve the essential problem.

In 2011, together with my wife Elżbieta, I decided to visit a clinic in Mexico, which provides the Gerson therapy. For three weeks I purified my body using a vegan diet. The symptoms of my diseases disappeared after just the first week.

It was the beginning of a new way of life. My wife, who supported me in maintaining the diet, decided to broaden her knowledge of healthy nutrition and completed postgraduate studies specializing in dietetics. Together, following professional recommendations, we adhered to a strict diet for six months, and later decided to stick with it permanently. For several years now, we have been vegans. As a result, I lost about 15 kilograms, returned to daily training, and my physical condition began to improve at an incredible pace. I regained not only my health, but also my joy for life and athletic form, which continues to grow year by year.

Eko Folwark is located in a restored palace in Poborowo. The palace and park complex in Poborowo was established in the mid-17th century.

After difficult years of neglect and destruction, when after 1945 the estate came under the control of a State Agricultural Farm, the palace gradually fell into ruin. It was only thanks to the determination of Olympic champion Czesław Lang and his wife Elżbieta—who decided to restore the palace, even though demolishing it would have been easier—that the place regained its former splendor.

Today, the palace serves as the heart of an organic farm, where exclusively certified organic food is produced with deep respect for the land. After years of oblivion, the palace in Poborowo has become a symbol of renewal—a place where the past and the present coexist in harmony, offering visitors a space for reflection.
